BODY OF FARMER FOUND AT HOME WEST OF TOWN
_____
Neighbors Investigate Sunday; William Klever Passed Away on Friday
_____

Noticing that the livestock on the William Klever farm six miles southwest of Williamsburg seemed uncared for, Bill Dubishar and Arthur Mumm investigated at six o’clock Sunday evening and found the lifeless body of Mr. William Klever. They called the county coroner, C.E. Van Dyke of North English, who declared the death due to natural causes, possibly a brain condition. Deputy Sheriff, Guy Schroel, also visited the scene.

Mr. Klever, who lived alone as his wife is ill and being cared for elsewhere, was last seen alive on Friday and the coroner decided that, due to the condition of the body, the death must have occurred on that day, Oct. 3.

John William Klever, a son of John and Rebecca Klever, was born Sept. 16, 1883, in Pilot Township. He was married to Sarah Edna Reed on Feb. 21, 1909, at Linnus, Mo. He followed the occupation of farming and lived his entire life in Pilot Township. He was a member of the Pilot Grove church and was known as a kind and helpful neighbor, honest and one who loved his children. He was 64 years old.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, Oct. 7, at the Jones Funeral Home with Rev. J. B. Pritchard, pastor of the Methodist church, officiating. Mrs. Geo. Meyer and Miss Viola Dubishar sang the funeral hymns with Mrs. E.C. Edwards as their accompanist. Interment was in Pilot Grove cemetery with following serving as pallbearers: Alfred Mumm, Arthur Mumm, William Dubishar, Floyd Klever, Carl Durr and Elvin Mumm.

He is survived by his wife, four daughters, Edith Klever and Mrs. Mary McCammant of Williamsburg; Mrs. Lucille McCammant of Millersburg and Mrs. Frances Meyer of Victor. Three sons, Virgil and Walter of South Amana and Louis of Williamsburg; three sisters, Mrs. Henry Hofmaster and Mrs. Charles Klein of Marengo, and Mrs. Axel Fant of Williamsburg; one brother Lewis Klever of Cedar Rapids; and four grandchildren. One daughter and two brothers, Charles and Fred, preceded him in death.

Mrs. Edith Cooper of Brookfield, Mo., and Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Klever of Cedar Rapids were among those from out of town who attended the funeral.
