Erma Mumm, 88

Funeral services for Erma A. Mumm, 88, Williamsburg, were held at 1:30pm Tuesday, April 2, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Williamsburg. She died Saturday, March 30, 1996, after a sudden illness at Marengo Memorial Hospital, Marengo.

The Rev. Carol Kress officiated at the service.

Burial was in Pilot Grove Cemetery, rural Williamsburg. Casket bearers were Larry Caskey, Kenneth Caskey, Art Landuyt, Rolland Schnell, Allen Mumm and Joel Mumm.

Memorials maybe made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Williamsburg.

Uhlmann-Powell Funeral Home, Williamsburg, was in charge of arrangements.

Erma Alberta Mumm was born July 19, 1907, in Iowa County, the daughter of Williams G. and Mary Roggentine Dubishar. She attended Pilot Grove schools and married Elvin R. Mumm Feb. 11, 1925, at St. Paul's United Methodist parsonage, Williamsburg.

The couple farmed in Pilot Township. She was a mother, homemaker and helped farm until they moved to Williamsburg in 1950.

Following her husband's death on Feb. 11, 1984, she moved into the home of her daughter, Phyllis Caskey, Williamsburg.

Mumm is survived by one daughter, Phyllis Caskey and husband Norman, Williamsburg; 12 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Ethel Mumm, Mendota, Ill., and Winston Dubishar, who was raised by her parents.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Melvin "Bud" Mumm, April 25, 1992.
