Sandra Kay Cronbaugh (Blair) passed away unexpectedly on Thurs., Jan. 7, 2010 at the age of 48. She was born June 27, 1961 in Portland, OR. She attended Camas High School graduating in 1979.
Her passion for Occupational Therapy was shown by achieving Cum Laude on her BS degree from the University of Southern California and certification as "Hand Therapist."
Her career at Providence and SW Medical found her designing three programs. What fascinated her most was the observation of surgeries relating to the arm and hand. Knowing her patients personally was as important as their treatment. Meeting Dr. David Green, renowned hand surgeon, highlighted a trip to San Antonio.
She was a founder along with her father and husband of the family run business, Columbia River Coffee Co. On many occasions you could find the whole family selling coffee at the market.
Like her mother, Sandra had a beautiful singing voice. They could pass the whole day away sitting around the piano going through music and what laughter occasionally you would hear. In high school there were musicals, but on Sundays at the Lacamas Community of Christ Church in Camas, it was common to hear a mother/daughter duet. Her nurturing was shown in teaching Sunday school. It is also reflected in the beautiful daughter and son she has helped to raise.
Sandra enjoyed getting away. Marrying an Iowa boy found them on many road trips between the two states. The most memorable is a Sept. blizzard, stranded with 200 other motorists in the Wamsutter, WY high school gym. The ones most treasured were the beach trips with family.
Sandra is survived by her husband, Steven Cronbaugh; daughter, Hannah and son, Elijah, all of Battle Ground, WA; father, Paul Blair of Camas; brother, Glenn Blair and wife Corrinne of Camas.
She was preceded in death by her mother and friend, Beverly Blair (Nottingham); niece, Rebecca Blair; and grandmother, Elsie (Chapman) Becker.
Her memorial service will be held Sun., Jan. 24, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Camas High School Auditorium, 26900 SE 15th, Camas, WA.
In lieu of flowers, send contributions to SW WA ALS Foundation, 310 SW 4th Ave., Ste. 630, Portland, OR 97204 or Heifer International, P.O. Box 8058, Little Rock, AR 72203-8058.
