Williamsburgh Journal, Williamsburgh (Iowa Co.), Iowa, 18 March 1887, Vol 3., No. 41, p3.

DIED;--March 12th, HENRY BROWN ESQ., at his home in Troy Township.

His death was very sudden. On that day he had eaten quite heartily at dinner and soon after went out to tend some stock. In a few minutes Mrs. Brown had an errand to the barn, and to her surprise and horror found her husband prostrate and unconcious. As he had had some time last summer at different times two strokes of an apolectic nature, she did not realize at once that the worst had come.

His remains were committed to their last resting place the 14th. inst. in the presence of a large assemblage of neighbors and friends. His long residence of thirty one years in this community had made for him a large acquaintance, and many warm friends. By continued industry and close frugality, he had acquired quite a property. Ireland was his native land, but its cramped condition did not meet the demands of his energetic spirit, and hence he migrated to this land where Europe's poor but substantial sons, who have willing hearts and strong hands, soon rank themselves among our most prosperous farmers.

In his early life he acknowledged his allegiance to the Redeemer of men, by uniting with the Presbyterian Church, of Ireland, and in this relationship he remained with commendable fidelity, until the final summons came, which it is hoped ushered him into the enjoyment of his reward. S.
