Tommie Joe Rhinehart, 58, of Victor, died April 13, 2009, at his home of a heart attack. A private family graveside service and burial will be held Wednesday, April 22, at the Brooklyn Memorial Cemetery, Brooklyn, Iowa with Pastor Jim Davis of the Victor United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation with the family present will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 Tuesday afternoon at the Smith Funeral Home in Victor. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Tommie Rhinehart Memorial Fund.

Tommie was born May 6, 1950, in Grinnell, the son of Kenneth and Marjorie Gant Rhinehart. He was raised in Hartwick and was a 1969 graduate of HLV High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

On October 13, 1973, he was married to Patricia York, in Marengo. The couple lived in Ladora prior to moving to Victor in 1975. He was employed for many years with Manatt’s Inc. and Iowa Erosion.

Survivors include his wife pat of Victor; two children Jennifer (John) Vogelaar of Clive and Chad (fiancé, Lindsay Jahalas) of West De Moines; one brother, Ron Rhinehart of Victor; and two grandchildren, Lola and Landry Vogelaar of Clive.
