, Sr., age 74, died Thursday, April 16, 2009 at his home from complications of cancer. The family will receive family and friends from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 20, 2009 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, to celebrate Ron’s life. Memorials may be contributed to the American Diabetes Association, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or the American Cancer Society.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Reichert; his children, Terry L. Schroeder (Steve) of Williamsburg, Ronald Ross Reichert Jr. “J.R.” of Marengo, Stacy Hawkins (Josh) of Marengo, Rickey Reichert of New Mexico, Katherine Ploen of Davenport, and Debra Tate of Texas; 4 grandchildren, Kaylene L. Schroeder, Lane J. F. Schroeder, Brandy Reichert and Tabitha Reichert; his siblings, Vera Webb of Muscatine, Loretta Drawbaugh of Muscatine, Pauline Webb of Muscatine, Patricia Blake of Bettendorf, Jack Reichert of Muscatine, Sandy Van Winkle of Bettendorf, Paul Reichert of Muscatine, and Jerry Reichert of Muscatine. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Florence Lucille Feldhahn Reichert, and siblings Gert Brown, Oliver Alfert Reichert, Jr., Jean Thorpe, Richard Reichert, Robert Reichert, and Donna Mae Reichert.

Ronald Ross Reichert was born November 1, 1934, in Muscatine, Iowa, the son of Oliver Alfert Reichert and Wilma Fern Fischer Reichert. He served in the United States Army. Ron was self-employed as a horse breeder, trainer and farrier. He was a member of the Iowa Quarter Horse Association, the American Quarter Horse Association and the National Snaffle Bit Association. He enjoyed horses, foals, horse shows, raising corgis and watching his grandchildren in the show ring.

Private family services will be at a later date.
