Vincent J. Malloy, age 82, of Williamsburg, died Friday, April 10, 2009 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City following an extended illness. Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 A.M. Monday, April 13, 2009, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Williamsburg with Fr. Joseph Roost officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Holbrook. Friends may call from 3 to 7 P.M. Sunday, April 12, 2009 at St. Mary’s Parish Hall, Williamsburg with a Rosary at 7 P.M. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be contributed to REA, Conroy, IA and St. Michael’s Cemetery Fund, Holbrook.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret; his children, Catherine Buehner (James) of Cedar Falls, Mary Ellen Malloy (Tryggvi Emilsson) of Champaign, IL, Helen Steckly (Randy) of Parnell, Janet Lukan (Tim) of Cedar Rapids, Pat Malloy of Williamsburg, Joseph Malloy (Michelle) of Williamsburg, and Rita (Ferreter) Malloy of Cedar Rapids; 16 grandchildren Greg, Molly, and Ellen Buehner, Adam and Jared Steckly, Keegan, Brendon, and Nathan Ferreter, Matt, David and Meghan Lukan, and Madeline, Hannah, Meredith, Emma, and Jacob Malloy; a brother Leonard Malloy (Kaye) of Pasadena, CA; and two sisters, Ellen Kinney of North Liberty and Mary McDonald (Alfred) of Iowa City. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Rita Lower and 4 brothers, Gerald, James, William and John F. Malloy.

Vincent Joseph Malloy was born April 9, 1927 in York Township, Iowa County, Iowa. He was the son of John and Mary B. Jones Malloy. He received his education in the Iowa County schools and served in the U.S. Army for 2 years during World War II. Vincent married Margaret McKenna on August 25, 1954 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Kinross, IA. Vincent was born, lived and worked his entire life on the family century farm. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
