Williamsburg Journal-Tribune, Williamsburg (Iowa Co.), Iowa; 17 March 1904:

Death of a Former Resident of York

We clip the following from the Mankato (Kansas) Advocate:
'Nathan Alexander, one of the old residents of Holmwood Township, was buried last Friday. Mr. Alexander was quite well known over the county on account of his large orchard where he raised big crops of cherries and peaches for several years.'

Mr. Alexander was one of the pioneers of York township and for years lived on the farm now owned by Mr. Geo. Glaudorf. Several years ago he moved to Kansas in which state he resided until his death. It is but a few months since we mentioned the fact of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander celebrating their "Golden Wedding." His old time neighbors will regret to learn of his death; he was a man of most positive convictions and no one ever faced the trials of a pioneer's life with more hope or cheerfulness.
