IVOR BRATTEN DIES AT OAKDALE SANATORIUM
Formerly Well Known Carpenter Who Came Here From Wisconsin

It was twelve years ago that Ivor Bratten came to our city from Seneca, Wis., as a carpenter. The first work he did on settling here was to help Charles Shinko.

From that time on he was actively engaged at his trade until his health was impaired so that he could no longer work. Last week according to Nurse Anna Hendryx of Oakdale sanitarium he died there.

He was employed as mail carrier for the hospital and in the time he worked there he won a warm place in the hearts of the doctors, nurses, and patients.

The evening before his death as reported by the nurse, he was standing at her desk when he was seized by an acute pain in his chest. This was followed by another seizure from which he recoved sufficiently to go to his room where medical attention was given him.

The next morning a tray boy entered his room with breakfast for him but found him dead. He was always making woodcraft articles and at Christmas time last and at New Year's he was remembering friends here with creations of his craft.
