DEATH CAME VERY SUDDENLY
Mrs. Laura V. McMillin, Victim of Paralysis. Was Well and Favorably Known, Burial at Marengo.
Mrs. Laura V. McMillin passed away quite suddenly about 7 o'clock Sunday morning following a stroke of paralysis with which she had been stricken a few hours previously. The deceased was well and favorably known in the city where she had made her home for many years and in Marengo where she resided previous to making this city her home.
The funeral was held from the home Thursday morning and was in charge of the Congregational church and the pall bearers were Messrs James Greenlee, Marcus Dodd, Wm. Crittenden, Chas Smith, J. A. Van Dike and E. M. Van Dike. The body was taken to Marengo and laid to rest in the Odd Fellow Cemetery.
Laura Nusbaum was a daughter of William and Martha Nusbaum and was born in Seneca County, Ohio on May 24th 1852 and at the time of her death on May 1st, 1921, lacked but a few days of having lived 69 years. When eighteen years of age she was united in marriage to Mr. Robert Liddle of Marengo and to them there were born six children, three of whom with the father, preceded the mother in death. The surviving children are Mrs. F. J. Riley and William Liddle of this city and Mrs. M. H. Marean of Kansas, City, Mo. She is also survived by a brother, Wm. Nusbaum and a sister, Mrs. Lacher of Marengo.
In 1899 she was united in Marriage to Mr. J. S. McMillin at Iowa City and the couple made their home in this city for a number of years. Mr. McMillin passing away here several years ago.
