Maxine A. Cronbaugh, age 91 of Marengo, died Saturday, April 19, 2008 at the Keystone Care Center, Keystone, IA from complications of age. Funeral Services: 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 22, 2008, Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo with Rev. Paul Moore officiating. Burial will be in the Koszta Cemetery, rural Marengo. Friends may call from 1 to 7 P.M. Monday, April 21, 2008 at Kloster Funeral Home where the family will be present from 4 to 7 P.M. A memorial fund has been established.

She is survived by three sons, Charles (Susan) of Marengo, Robert W. (Connie) of Marengo and Gary (Taryn) of Tama; four daughters, Janet Korns of Brooklyn, Barbara Gensley of Victor, Mary Schwab-Gerard (Jake) of Belle Plaine and Doris Hawkins of Marengo; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Cecil in 1994, a son Celaine in 2004, two daughters in infancy, a brother Milo Stowell and a sister Lela Mase Winnegar.

Maxine Anne Stowell was born September 19, 1916 in rural Iowa County, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Mary McKusker Stowell. She graduated from Victor High School in 1936 and married Cecil Cronbaugh on October 3, 1936 in Gladbrook, Iowa. Maxine was a homemaker. She was a lifelong member of the Oaklawn Church of God, rural Marengo, the Koszta Methodist Women Quilting Club and the Dorcas Circle.
