Charles E. Rumple, youngest son of John and Nancy Rumple, was born near Fostoria, Senecca Co., Ohio, April 12, 1862. Died 28 Nov 1892, aged 30 year, 7 months and 16 days.
He came with his parents to Iowa County, Ia, in April 1885. He united with the Ohio M.P. Church when about 16 years of age. His last illness was of just six weeks duration, and was of a severe character from the first; but he bore it all with christian patience until death relieved him of suffering.
He leaves an aged father, six sisters & three brothers to mourn his death. Charley had many friends, as the large concourse of people who attended the last sad rites would testify.
The funeral services were conducted by Rev. James Kirkwood, his pastor. The sermon was preached from the text, Job 7th chapter, 6th verse. After which his mortel remains were laid to rest in the cemetery near by.
