Una Mae Walsh, 86, formerly of Cedar Rapids died at the Hiawatha Care Center Wednesday January 9, 2008, following a long illness. Services: 10 a.m., Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church by Rev. David Ambrosy. Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may visit from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at Teahen Funeral Home where a vigil service will be held at 5 p.m. with a rosary to follow. Friends may also visit Saturday from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. at Teahen Funeral Home. Una is survived by her children, Rita (Lewis) Fry of Robins, Patrick “Jim” (Linda) of Marshalltown, Mary (Dick) Jasa and Joe (Deb) all of Cedar Rapids, John (Diane) of Marion, Paula Kay (Terry) Johnson of Fairfax, Joyce (Dennis) Kowalski of Solon and daughter-in-law, Patti Walsh-Bailey of Marengo; twenty grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; two sisters, Zelma Harl of Kellogg and Donna Albee of Newton; brother-in-law, Dale Deppe of Oskaloosa and sisters-in-laws, Cecelia Walsh of Cedar Rapids and Veronica Bittner of Solon. Her husband Paul who died in 1983, son Stephen Anthony, grandson, Jamie Walsh, two brothers and two sisters precede Una in death. Una was born July 5, 1921 in Millersburg the daughter of Eddie Q. and Bessie Morris Grimm. She married Paul Walsh on June 12, 1941 in North English. Una worked as a cook at St. Patrick School and at Fifth Avenue Care Center. She was a member of the National Catholic Society of Foresters and St. Patrick Catholic Church. Una enjoyed crocheting, sewing and making ceramics. She also enjoyed dancing with her husband, Paul. Una was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be missed dearly.
