Marion L. Fuller, 74, of 1060 Center St. NE. died Tuesday Feb. 12, 2008 at his home after a brief illness. Memorial services at 1:00 PM on Saturday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories where there will also be military rites. Inurnment at Cedar Memorial Park Mausoleum Columbarium. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Doris, a daughter, Stacy of Arlington, Virginia, one brother, Robert (Sandy) of Cedar Rapids, two sisters, Dorothy Von Lienen (George) of Macon, Missouri and Ella Mae (Gerald) Sperry of Cedar Rapids, He is also survived by nephews and nieces to include a special nephew, Bob Fuller. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Cloyde and a sister, Marge MacFarlin.
Marion was born on Jan. 8, 1934 in Marengo, the son of Claude and Loreen Blair Fuller. He married Doris J. Betz on April 30, 1960 in Cedar Rapids. Marion was the vehicle maintenance manager at the U.S. Post Office in Cedar Rapids for 34 years, retiring in 1994. He was a member of American Legion Hanford Post No. 5, the U.S.S. Salisbury Sound Association and proudly served in the U.S. Navy.
Marion enjoyed rebuilding and restoring old John Deere tractors and especially time spent with his many friends and beloved family. Marion was a wonderful husband, father, brother and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at Amherst College in Marion's name. Military rites by American Legion Hanford Post No. 5.
