Eloise Edna Swink was born on November 11, 1921, near North English, IA, the daughter of Ora Garret and Bertha Wade Hall. She attended rural Tucker School. Eloise married David Huber on August 19, 1941 in Lancaster, MO. A son Jack was born to this union. David was killed in 1945 during World War II. On July 1, 1948, Eloise married Donald M. Swink in Williamsburg, IA. Three children were born to this union: Donna, Vicki and Larry. Eloise lived her entire life in the North English community. Donald preceded her in death in 1982. While she enjoyed working with her flowers and traveling, her family was her life. Eloise died at her home in North English, following a short illness on Friday, February 1, 2008. Eloise lived 86 years. She is survived by daughters Donna Hospodarsky of Tupelo, MS; Vicki Ayers of South English, IA; Larry Swink and wife Debra of Ladora, IA; a daughter-in-law Maxine Huber of North English, IA; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; a great great granddaughter; and a brother Leo (Chub) Hall of Wellman, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, son Jack Lee Huber, brother Cleo Hall and sisters Virginia Hall, Mary Joanne Hall and Mina Debler. Her body was cremated and private graveside services will be held at a later date. Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service will be in charge of arrangements. The family will greet friends at her home in North English on Thursday, February 7, 2008 from 1 PM to 4 PM. Messages and tributes may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com under obituaries. A memorial fund has been established for Essence of Life Hospice in Amana.
