On Friday, Feb 19th, at 12:30 occurred the death of Sylvester McGuire at the home of his son Will. He was taken sick a week before his death and was a patient sufferer until the end came. He was an old pioneer settler having lived in this country for fifty years. He had reached the ripe age of 82 years. Many were the trials and hardships of his life. He was respected by all who knew him. The children left to mourn his loss are George, Charley, Will, Mrs Nettie Robertson and Mrs. Laura Strong and a number of grandchildren. The funeral was held in the Immaculate Conception Church of Armah on Sunday conducted by Father Kissane. After the service the body was laid to rest in the cemetary near the church. Sympathy is extended to the children in their bereavement. The children of the deceased wish to thank all the neighbors and friends for their kindness and sympathy shown us at this time of bereavement.
