Charlotte Mary (Agnew) Pingel, 59, of rural Adel, formerly of Millersburg, died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2007, in her home after a sudden illness. Memorial services: 2 p.m. today, St. John's Catholic Church, Adel, where the family will greet friends one hour before services begin. Private burial: Armah Cemetery, North English. Arrangements are with McCalley Funeral Home in Adel.
Survivors include her husband, Louis; two sons, Jonathan Pingel of Adel and Sean Faris of Simi Valley, Calif.; her mother, Mary Agnew of Williamsburg; five sisters, Suzanne Featherston of Reno, Nev., Barbara Agnew of Orlando, Fla., Roseann Agnew of St. Louis, Margaret O'Rourke of Earlham and Kay Agnew of Des Moines; and two brothers, John Agnew of Corning and Ed Agnew of Millersburg.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harry Agnew; and husband, James Faris.
Born June 14, 1948, in rural Millersburg, Iowa, to Harry and Mary Agnew, Charlotte ``Lottie'' attended Deep River-Millersburg High School and graduated from the University of Iowa. She was employed for 20 years at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. She had lived in the Des Moines/Adel area since 1997.
Charlotte was active in Belted Galloway Cattle Society in Iowa. She participated in many events and enjoyed her Beltie cattle herd. Charlotte also enjoyed researching extensive genealogy, especially her family's Irish background and history. She had a love for Ireland.
Memorials may be directed to the Armah Cemetery Association.
