Joseph H. DeMeulenaere (August 27, 1926 - June 8, 2007) Joseph H. DeMeulenaere, age 80, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, June 8, 2007 with his family and special personal friends at his bedside.. He was born August 27, 1926 in Victor, IA to Henry and Evaleen (nee McGarry) DeMeulenaere. He grew up in his family home in Victor, Iowa where he graduated from St. John Catholic High School. Joseph enlisted in the U.S. Navy during WWII and completed his training in San Diego, CA. On November 22nd of 1949, he married Margie Ann Foley of Belle Plaine, IA and to this union were born four wonderful children. Joseph began his career with the REA in Iowa and then moved to Wisconsin where he attended UW-Stout where he became a safety instructor for the Wisconsin VTAE and the Wisconsin Electric Co-op Assn. Survivors include a daughter: Connie Jo (Dan) Deraps of Teton Valley, ID; 3 sons: Cary G. DeMeulenaere of Eau Claire, WI, Craig A. DeMeulenaere of Jackson Hole, WY, & John G. DeMeulenaere of Jackson Hole, WY; a sister: Pauline (Don) Kloos of Cedar Rapids, IA; his close personal friend, Nancy Leazott of Eau Claire, WI; three grandchildren: Ty, Tara and Nicholas; & two great-grandchildren: Savannah and Trenton. Further survived by other relatives & friends. He is preceded by his parents. Joe had a keen interest in the sport of golf. His exemplary performance was honored when he scored a hole in one in 2005. He also shared a special love for the mountainous terrain of the State of Arizona. During his lifetime, Joe fostered friendships built on his core values of integrity, respect and his exceptional character of loving and caring for others. He was a member of the Eau Claire Country Club where he had been a former member of the Board of Directors, Past President of Brooklyn-Victor Country Club of Brooklyn, IA, a member of the American Legion, Knights of Columbus, Neuman Catholic Community and Quad-State Electric Safety Instructors and a Past President of the National Electric Safety Instructors. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at the Newman Parish at the Ecumenical Religious Center, 110 Garfield Street, Eau Claire, WI. Friends may call from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Wednesday at the Neuman Center. Private interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held following the Memorial Service at the Eau Claire Golf & Country Club, 828 Clubview Lane, Altoona beginning at 1:00 PM.
