Williamsburg–Scott Wayne Gingerich was born October 21, 1964 in Iowa City, Iowa the son of Wayne (Beaner) and Marjorie (Sueppel) Gingerich. He graduated for Williamsburg High School in 1983. Scott was united in marriage to Angie Guy on May 25, 1991 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Williamsburg. Scott worked for Community Motors in Iowa City as a mechanic. He was an avid motor sports fan, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and most of all he enjoyed watching his son Ben play in sports. Scott was a great husband and father. Scott died Saturday, May 26, 2007 at Marengo Memorial Hospital in Marengo after a sudden illness at the age of 42 years. He is survived by his wife Angie; son Ben; his mother: Marjorie Gingerich all of Williamsburg; two brothers: Michael Gingerich of Riverside and Mark Gingerich of Mt. Zion, IL; two sisters: Debra Crouch of New London and Susan Jones of Williamsburg; mother-in-law: Marla McFall of Cedar Rapids; father-in-law:Wendel (Lorraine) Guy of Washington; a brother-in-law: Nathan Guy of Cedar Rapids; seven nieces and nephews: Paige Jones, Nate Jones, Joe Crouch, Josh Crouch, Molly Gingerich, Noah Gingerich, Olivia Gingerich. He was preceded in death by his father. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Williamsburg. Fr Joseph Roost will officiate. Burial will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Holbrook. Visitation will be Monday from 2 to 8:00 at the Uhlmann-Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Williamsburg. Memorial fund has been established for Ben Gingerich Education Fund.
