Marion William ``Bill'' Glandon, 92, of Williamsburg, died of cardio-obstructive pulmonary disease Friday, April 20, 2007, in his home. Celebration of Life memorial service: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North English, by Pastor Edwin Jordan. Burial: North English Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. to service time Tuesday.

He is survived by his wife, Leona of Williamsburg; daughter, Mary Lynn Kretch [Kretchmer?, see below] man of Osage Beach, Mo.; son-in-law, James Riess of Conroy; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Patricia Glandon; and daughter, Nancy Riess.

A memorial fund has been established for Iowa City Hospice.

Marion William Glandon was born on September 2, 1914, NEAR South English, IA , the son of Roy C. And Roxie Barnes Glandon. He grew up in North English and graduated from North English High School. He enjoyed playing baseball in his younger years. On January 16, 1938 William married Leona E. Gasper in Oskaloosa, IA. They lived a short time in Illinois, Washington, IA and then moved to Williamsburg, IA in 1956. William was a carpenter and when his day was over, he relaxed by working in his yard and making small projects for his family. William died of cardio-obstructive pulmonary disease on Friday, April 20, 2007 at his home in Williamsburg. He lived 92 years, 7 months and 19 days. He is survived by his wife Leona of Williamsburg, IA; daughter Mary Lynn Kretchmer of Osage Beach, MO; a son-in-law James Riess of Conroy, IA; 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter Patricia Glandon and daughter Nancy Riess.
