BELLE PLAINE - Jerry Shaul, age 67, died Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at the VA Hospital in Knoxville following an extended illness. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, April 2, 2007 at Phillips Funeral Home in Blairstown with Rev. Jena Manchester officiating. Interment will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Belle Plaine with Graveside Military Rites conducted by the Jennings-Bradshaw American Legion Post #39 of Belle Plaine. Friends may call at the funeral home in Blairstown from 2 to 4 PM on Sunday. A Memorial Fund has been established. Jerry was born May 11, 1939 at Iowa City to Forrest Rolin and Edith A. (Sims) Shaul and graduated from the Ladora High School in Iowa County. During Viet Nam he served his nation in the U.S. Army. On August 18, 1972 he married Marilyn Tappan Fabor at Ladora. She preceded him in death in 1989. For over twenty years Jerry owned and operated the Indian Jewelry Store in Belle Plaine. He was a member of the Methodist Church. He is survived by his daughter, Shannon (Eli) Wildman of Marshalltown; his step-children, Erin (Jay) Schafbuch of Belle Plaine, Randy (Cynthia) Fabor of Cedar Rapids, and Kerry (Nancy) Fabor of Gibsonville, NC; grandchildren, Jaeden and Emma Wildman, Jessie and Tyler Schafbuch, Adam and Allison Fabor, Sean and Kathy Fabor, Jennifer Jeutt, and Jeff and Eric Fabor, seven great-grandchildren and his sister, Mary Kathryn Shaul of Colorado. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his step-son, Kevin Fabor.
