Mary Flanagan Leir

Mrs. C.N.O. Leir, wife of Dr. Leir of Des Moines, and eldest daughter of J.M. Flanagan a former resident of Marengo died at the Mercy Hospital in Des Moines of tuberculosis, Dec. 30, 1907. She was buried in Des Moines, Jan. 3, 1908. The funeral was held from the parlors of the Goldstone hotel with high mass at the church of Visitation. Mrs. Leir has been an inmate of a sanitarium in Denver, Col. for the past two years. She came home from there one week before her death. The father and mother of Denver and her sister Catharine of Minneapolis, Minn., attended the funeral. Mary Flanagan was born Aug. 6, 1880, at Marengo, Iowa. She was married to Dr. Leir in Des Moines, Oct. 9, 1903. She leaves one child, a boy 2 years and 5 months old.
