Carolyn “Sue” Milligan, age 63, died Friday, September 29, 2006 at the Marengo Memorial Hospital from complications of cancer. Funeral Services: 1:30 P.M. Tuesday, October 3, 2006, Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo with Rev. Lynne Bisson officiating. Burial will be in the North English Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 P.M. Monday, October 2, 2006 at Kloster Funeral Home. A memorial fund has been established.

She is survived by four children, Donald Phillips and wife Cindy of Waterloo, Tina Moyer and special friend Sam Sykes of Marengo, Michael Phillips and companion Sandy MacKain of Williamsburg, and Victor Milligan and companion Nicole Matlick of Cedar Rapids; twelve grandchildren, two brothers, James VanDyke and wife Kendra of South English and Jerry VanDyke of Williamsburg; and two sisters, Mary Rusbult and husband Don of Marengo and Patty Wille and husband Leroy of Conroy. Her parents and a brother Jack preceded her in death.

Carolyn Susan VanDyke was born May 5, 1943 in Sigourney, Iowa, the daughter of Donald and Bernice Laird VanDyke. She received her education in the English Valley Schools and graduated from Amana High School in 1961. Sue attended Indian Hills Community College, Ottumwa. She was employed at SEIDA in Fairfield for 15 years, then was director of the Marengo Senior Dining, and finally to the HACAP corporate office as POA, concentrating on energy assistance for the elderly. Sue was associated with Trinity United Church of Christ, Marengo.
