Ronald E. Wade, 68, 1005 Fairchild St., Iowa City, died suddenly Thursday, September 7, 2006 in Iowa City.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday, Sept. 11 at St. Wenceslaus Church with Rev. Michael Phillips. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 – 6 p.m. at Lensing Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Iowa City where a vigil service will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday. Memorial donations may be made to St. Wenceslaus Church or Ronald McDonald House.

Ron was born June 16, 1938 in Williamsburg, Iowa, the son of Harley and Ila Ford Wade. He graduated from Parnell High School. He married Patricia Bower Oct. 27, 1962 in Millersburg, Iowa.

Through Ron’s hard work and dedication, he built up a successful business, Wade Drywall. Ron enjoyed classic cars and shows. He belonged to several classic car clubs and participated in many car trips around the country with his beloved, red ’58 Impala. His family and friends were involved in his many interests, and Ron was a loving and devoted son, husband, father and brother.

Survivors include his wife, Pat; his five children Rita Wade of New York City, Brian Wade and Carrie Scott of Antwerp, Belgium, Paula Wade of Portland, Oregon, Rhonda and Kevin Warren of Iowa City and Chad Wade of Iowa City; his brother John and Betty Wade of Dyersville, Iowa and his aunt Marguerite “Toodley” Edwards of Iowa City.

Ron’s parents preceded him in death.
