Helen Janette Fosdick, age 80 died on Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at Manor Care in Cedar Rapids after a long illness. Friends may greet the family at Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North English on Saturday, August 26, 2006 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Their will be no service. Her ashes will be buried in the Liberty Cemetery near Atkinson, IL at a later date. Helen was born on July 2, 1926 in Millersburg, Iowa, the daughter of Milo Rex and Reathel O. Seaton Dansdill. She graduated from Millersburg High School and worked at the Rock Island Arsenal, the Herman Nelson Co. And as a bookkeeper at several savings and loan companies. Helen was united in marriage to Albert Dean Fosdick on February 18, 1955, in Kewanee, IL.. They made their home in Geneseo, IL. Helen and Albert loved to camp. Helen became a resident of Manor Care In Cedar Rapids, IA 6 years ago. She died on Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at Manor Care after a long illness. Helen lived 80 years, 1 month and 21 days. She is survived by a brother George (Sharla) Dansdill of Decorah, IA; sisters Theresa (Frank) Greene of Keswick, IA; and Patricia Vercande of Clutier, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in September 1992 and a sister Jean Mullin.
