LaVerne F. Murphy, 64, was found in his home August 14, 2006 from apparent natural causes. Private services will be held at a later date. He has been cremated. Hrabak Funeral Home, in Belle Plaine, is serving the family.

He is survived by sons - Vern of Searsboro & Miles of Cedar Rapids; sisters - Marlene Sloan of Victor, Marvel Schafbuch of Marengo, and Grace Tatge of Belle Plaine; brothers - Larry of Koszta, Ronald of Cedar Rapids, and Earle of Johnson Lake, Nebraska. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
