Hilda was born on January 25, 1907, in Lincoln Township near Victor, Iowa to Jacob and Dora Schultz Floerchinger. She was baptized on February 10, 1907 at St. John’s Lutheran Church and later confirmed there too. She was raised on the family farm and attended St. John’s School. On August 31, 1936, she was married to Maurice R. Seye at St. John’s Lutheran Church parsonage. The couple moved to Detroit, Michigan, where he worked for the Ford Motor Company and she was a homemaker. They returned to Iowa in 1938 and settled on acreage south of Victor. Maurice worked for Amana Refrigeration Company and she worked as a cook in the HLV School District. She has resided at Brookhaven Nursing Home for the past eight years. She was the oldest living member of St. James Lutheran Church and was also a member of the church ladies aid. She is survived by many nieces and nephews as well as her sister-in-law, Anna Woehr of Marengo. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one brother, Carl Floerchinger; and four sisters, Clara Schultz, Edna Faas, Viola Weiss and Esther Steinmetz.
Memorials may be directed to St. James Lutheran Church in Victor.
