Marian Jean Schafbuch, age 85 of Springfield, MO., formerly of Marengo, died Thursday, July 13, 2006 in Springfield following an extended illness. Funeral Services: 10:00 A.M. Monday, July 17, 2006 at the First Presbyterian Church in Marengo with Rev. Gerald Rife officiating. Burial will be in the Genoa Bluff Cemetery, rural Ladora, IA. Friends may call from 6 to 8 P.M. Sunday, July 16, 2006 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. Memorials may be contributed to the First Presbyterian Church in Marengo.Marian is survived by her children, Ellen Parlier of Springfield, MO, Janice Miller and husband Del of San Diego, CA, Linda Aston and husband Keith of Tulsa, OK, and Jim Schafbuch and wife Sheryl of Marengo; 10 grandchildren Todd Miller, Manhattan, KS, Tad Miller, Wichita, KS, Lorna Shrewsberry, Loretta Bradley, Lindsay Bradley, all of Tulsa OK, Dr. Danielle Leskie, Troy, MI, Devon Kaster, Berkley, MI, Nathan Schafbuch, Manley, IA, Keri and Dustin Schafbuch of Marengo and three great-grandchildren Katerina, Alexandra, and Nicholas Leskie. Also surviving are a sister-in-law, Mary Kramer and a brother-in-law, Charles HibbsShe was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 sisters Helen Hibbs and Evelyn Kramer, a brother Harry Kramer, a grandson ,Troy Miller, and her son–in-law Jim Parlier.Marian Jean Kramer was born on May 17,1921 in Nora Springs Iowa the daughter of Harry Kramer and Minnie L. Scholtz Kramer. She graduated from Carson High School in Marengo, IA on May 17, 1939. After attending Teachers’ College in Cedar Falls, she taught in several one-room schools. Marian became a full time homemaker after she married Lewis R. Schafbuch on Nov. 16, 1945 at the First Presbyterian Church in Marengo. The couple were the proud parents of four children, who survive her. Lewis died January 3, 1995. Marian passed away Thursday surrounded by her daughters and her dear friend Luella Singleton.
