M. Elizabeth “Betty” Moessner, age 82 of Middle Amana, died Saturday evening, July 8, 2006 at Colonial Manor of Amana, following a brief illness. Funeral Services: 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at the First Presbyterian Church, Marengo, with Rev. Jerry Rife officiating. Burial will be in the Middle Amana Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 P.M. Monday, July 10, 2006 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. A memorial fund has been established.

Survivors include her husband, Arnold; two daughters, Sandra Helpsmeet and husband Mark of Eau Claire, WI, and Lauren Christiansen and husband Mark of Monticello, MN; a son, Drew and wife Amy of Byron, MN; twelve grandchildren, Angelique Hummel (Scott) of Cedar Rapids, Ian Hansen of Eau Claire, WI, Jaime Hansen of Minneapolis, MN, Joseph Hansen of Madison, WI, Jonathan Hansen of Lansing, MI, Chris Judgekins-Fischer of Minneapolis, MN, Meredith Halling, Byron, MN, Kendra Christiansen of Monticello, MN, Tyler Moessner of Myron, MN, Geoffrey Halling of Byron, MN, Cameron Christiansen of Monticello, MN and Hayley Moessner of Byron, MN; two great-grandchildren, Mya and Noah Hummel of Cedar Rapids; and a sister, Elaine Aniloski of Laguna Niguel, CA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Ardivee and Althea, and a son, Barry Dean.

M. Elizabeth Tarr was born November 7, 1923 in LaPorte, Indiana, the daughter of Willard Webster Tarr and Lillian Christine Payreleithner Tarr. She attended Elmhurst High School and married Arnold E. Moessner on October 21, 1945 at Ft. Wayne, Indiana. She was a homemaker and worked part time at the Amana Society Service Company. Betty was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Marengo. She enjoyed all aspects of her family life and also enjoyed sewing.
