Milford Olson, age 84 of Oxford formerly of Cedar Rapids died Tuesday, May 16, 2006, at the Lantern Park Nursing and Rehab Center in Coralville. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 19, 2006, at the Riverside Cemetery, Riverside, Iowa with the Reverend Diane Townsley officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8pm Thursday at Gay & Ciha Funeral Chapel in Oxford. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his memory. Milford Jacob Olson was born April 23, 1922, in Marengo, Iowa the son of Walter and Gertrude (Kinzenbaum) Olson. During World War II, he served his country in the Unites States Navy. On April 17, 1963, he married Dorothy Havel in Riverside. For many years Milford worked for Wilson Foods in Cedar Rapids where he lived until moving to Oxford nearly five years ago. He was a member of the Oxford American Legion. His family includes nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Dorothy; and his sister, Kathleen Ellis.
