Bonita "Bonnie" Lindenmayer, 80, died Tuesday, May 2, 2006, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, from complications of lymphoma. Memorial services: 2 p.m. Saturday, May 13, St. John's Lutheran Church, Marengo, by the Rev. Douglas Morton. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are with Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

She is survived by her husband, Richard; three children, Suzanne Riherd (David) of Belle Plaine, William Lindenmayer (Skipper) of LaSalle, Colo., and June Lindenmayer of Steamboat Springs, Colo.; four grandchildren, Lisa (Trevor) Andersen of North Liberty, Darin (Miriam) Riherd of Portland, Ore., and Richard Bradley Lindenmayer and William Brian Lindenmayer, both of LaSalle, Colo.; and four great-grandchildren, Madelynn and Jack Andersen of North Liberty and Moira and James Riherd of Portland, Ore. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ervin and Melvin Fruendt; and a sister, Luella Freudenberger.

Bonita Pauline Fruendt was born Nov. 13, 1925, in Iowa County, Iowa, the daughter of Herman and Emelia Stoker Fruendt. She graduated from Victor High School in 1943 and entered nurses training at Iowa Lutheran in Des Moines from 1943 to 1946. She married Richard Lorenz Lindenmayer on Oct. 20, 1946, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Lincoln Township, rural Victor. She was employed at Marengo Memorial Hospital for 11 years and then was school nurse at Iowa Valley School for 24 years, retiring in 1991.

Bonnie enjoyed playing bridge and quilting. She sang in the church choir for over 50 years at St. John's Lutheran Church, Marengo, where she was a member. She was a member of St. John's Ladies Aid and the Marengo Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
