LEON FULLER, July 8, 1993:

Funeral Services for Leon "Bud" Fuller, 73, Victor, were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday July 6, at McAninch-Fremming Funeral Home, Victor. He died Friday, July 2, 1993, at the Belle Plaine Care Center, Belle Plaine.

The Rev. Torger P. Johnson, Ladora United Methodist Church and the Rev. Robert Barrick, Osage, officiated at the service.

Burial was in the Ohio Cemetery south of Ladora with military graveside rites by the American Legion. Pallbearers were Brian Fuller, Cameron Fuller, Cary Fuller, Cullen Fuller, Robin Fuller and Sheri Fuller. Honorary pallbearers were Steven Fuller Jr., Tricia Fuller, Christy Taber and Daiel Taber.

Leon Fuller was born Aug. 30, 1919 in rural Iowa County, the son of Clayton and Alice Rosenberger Fuller. He graduated from Ladora High School in 1938.

He served three years in the United States Army during Wold War II and was stationed in Africa and Italy.

Fuller married Marjorie L. Slaymaker Feb. 28, 1942 in Marengo. The couple farmed south of Ladora until 1956. He worked several years for local feed dealers before going to work at Amana Refrigeration Inc., Middle Amana. He retired in 1984 after 20 years, and the couple moved to Victor in 1991.

He was a member of the Ladora United Methodist Church, where he served as a trustee, and the Ladora American Legion. He coached softball in Ladora for many years.

Fuller is survived by his wife; three sons, James L. Fuller, Chariton; Larry B. Fuller, Victor, and Steven C. Fuller, Omaha, Neb; 10 grandchildren, Cullen, Cameron, Cary, Sheri, Robin, Brian, Tricia and Steven Jr. Fuller and Christy and Daniel Taber, and one sister, Edna Talbott, Marengo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Claude Fuller, C.R. "Hod" Fuller and Harley Fuller, and three sisters, Pearl Dietrich, Ruth Schultz and Melva Doty.
