Gene E. Faas, 67, of 212 East 4th Street in Tipton died Monday, April 10, 2006 at his home after a short illness. Services at 3 PM on Friday at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories where friends may call after 2 PM on Friday. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.Survivors include three nephews, Michael (Bev) Faas of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Steven Faas of Cedar Rapids and Kevin Faas of Vinton, two nieces, Lynda and Vicky, both of Cedar Rapids and many grand nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, James and Melvin.Gene was born on Sept. 12, 1938 in Millersburg, the son of Orville and Lulu Gerard Faas. Gene farmed for most of his life. He enjoyed painting, puzzles, collecting stuffed animals and birds as well as gardening. He will be greatly missed by all. Memorial donations may be given to Camp Courageous in Gene's name.
