Margaret Mary "Peg" Bliss, 88, a resident of Willow Gardens Care Center, Marion, died there Sunday, April 9, 2006, following a short illness. Services: 9 a.m. Wednesday, Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, by the Rev. Lloyd Brockmeyer. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Burial: Lennox Cemetery, Iowa County, Iowa.
Survivors include a son, Donald Duane (Maxine) Bliss of Marion; a daughter, Joan "Jody" (Tom) Leso of Berryville, Va.; nine grandchildren, Dean, Sandra, Daniel, Sue, David, Sara, Mary Jo, Stephanie and Barbara; 24 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert; great-granddaughter, Rowan; a sister; and four brothers.

Margaret was born May 4, 1917, the daughter of Clem and Mary Johnson Robison, in Guthrie Center, Iowa. She was a graduate of Central City High School in 1936. On Nov. 15, 1937, she was united in marriage to Albert J. Bliss in Central City. Albert died Sept. 2, 1988. Margaret was last employed at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids in food service. She retired in 1986. Margaret was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids.
