Obituary – Mrs. Charles W. Williams
Mrs. C. W. Williams passed away at her home in Grant Township Tuesday, August 20 at 2:45 p.m. after a serious illness of short duration. In early June her condition was deemed critical and she was taken to St. Joseph’s hospital in Sioux City for observation and treatment. After remaining there seven weeks and receiving no relief, her request to return home was granted. Her death came suddenly three weeks later. Jenny Buenz Williams was born in Crawford County, January 11, 1894. She was the elder daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Buenz. Her parents moved to Battle Creek in her early childhood where she attended the public schools. She was a member of the Presbyterian church, and Oak Rebekah lodge No. 361 and also a member of the Past Noble Grand club in Battle Creek. She was united in marriage with Charles W. Williams on February 10, 1915 and lived her entire life on the home farm near Grant Center. At the time of her death she had attained the age of 52 years, seven months and 10 days. Surviving are her husband, a daughter Doteen, a son-in-law Ralph Novak and a granddaughter, Beverly Ann Novak, also one sister, Mrs. Agnes Young of Omaha, and three brothers, Henry Buenz of Ida Grove, Albert of Newton and Lester of Charter Oak. Funeral services were held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Presbyterian church at Battle Creek with Rev. Albert C. J. Kellow officiating Mrs. Robert Brock sang “In The Garden” accompanied at the organ by Miss Cassie Taylor. The many lovely floral tributes were arranged by Mrs. J. W. Ball, Mrs. Glenn Silkmaan and Mrs. Otto Rogge. Interment in Mount Hope Cemetery was in charge of Moore and Christensen Funeral Home.
