Edward Emmett Derksen
(October 22, 1946 - January 16, 1947)

Obituary
Edward Emmett Derksen, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Derksen, died Thursday evening, January 16 at St. Joseph’s hospital in Sioux City. He was two months and 25 days old, and had been ill since birth. He was under constant care of physicians and baby specialists and the past month had received care at the hospital. Besides the parents he is survived by three sisters, Mary, Patricia and Virginia and four brothers, John Jr., James, Gary, and Larry. Also the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Spotts, Ida Grove and Mr. and Mrs. John Derksen Sr., of Des Moines. An infant sister, Phyllis Jean preceded him in death. Funeral services were held at the home, with Rev. Father Grady officiating. Relatives attending from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Spotts, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Spotts, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Spotts, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wonder, Mr. and Mrs. George Redenius and family, Mrs. Ethel Hanks all of Ida Grove, Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Stanford of Cherokee.
