Obituary – Emma Reinking
Funeral services for Emma Reinking who died on July 3, were held Saturday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church. Emma Reinking, daughter of Hans Henrichsen and his wife, Matilda, was born in Otter Creek Township on the 8th of January, 1877. She was baptized by Pastor Bretscher and confirmed by Pastor Schug. She was joined in marriage with Charles Reinking on September 8, 1897. The couple farmed in Grant Township for 15 years, then farmed south of Schleswig for an additional 12 years. In 1930 the couple moved to Schleswig where she resided until her death. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles in 1945 and also four brothers and three sisters. Surviving are her four children, Louisa, wife of Albert Teut of Schleswig, LaMorn, wife of William Iwen of Doon, Iowa, Edward of Schleswig and Carl of Spring Lake, Michigan, nine grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Emma Reinking died at the Denison hospital Wednesday evening after a long illness. She was a life long member of the Lutheran Church, being a member of this congregation since 1912 and was a founder fo the Ladies Aid Society. She attained unto 80 years, 5 months, and 25 days. Burial was made in the Morgan Cemetery. The following were pallbearers: Leslie Henrichsen, Elmer Henrichsen, Herbert Henrichsen, Julius Miller, Fred Miller and Raymond Miller.
