Obituary – Mrs. Margaret B. Hoyer
Mrs. Margaret B. Hoyer was born April 16, 1869 in Boone, Iowa and passed away at the home of her daughter on June 14 at Salem, Oregon. She was married to Charles W. Hoyer on Feb. 14, 1894 at Boone, and they settled in Battle Creek. They lived there, with the exception of 8 years spent in Ida Grove, until 1946 when they moved to Salem. Mrs. Hoyer was a member of Oak Rebekah Lodge No. 361 at Battle Creek and of the Royal Neighbors. She was a long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church there. Services were held in that church on June 19, with Rev. Albert C. J. Kellow in charge. Burial was in the Ida Grove Cemetery. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Clem W. Ohlsen (Lelia) of Salem, Oregon, and a son, Verne B. Hoyer of Cottage Grove, Ore. Mr. Hoyer passed away in 1949, a son Roland, in 1930 and another son, Lawrence, in 1956.
