(May 1, 1929 – July 14, 2020)IDA GROVE – Services for Alice Bradshaw 91, of Ida Grove were held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, July 17, 2020, at First United Methodist Church in Ida Grove with Rev. Luann Benge officiating. Burial was in the Ida Grove Cemetery at Ida Grove with Christensen-Van Houten Funeral Home in Ida Grove in charge of arrangements.
Alice Mae Bradshaw, daughter of Louis and Esther (Sorenson) Rold, was born May 1, 1929, in Harlan. She grew up in Irwin and graduated from Irwin High School in 1946. She then began working at the Irwin Café for her brother, Milford. On Nov. 27, 1949, Alice married Donald Bradshaw. They decided to purchase the café from Alice’s brother. While living in Irwin, they welcomed the birth of their first child, a daughter, Terri. They owned and operated the café for a couple of years before a job change for Donald relocated them to Ida Grove. They welcomed two more children to their family: a daughter, Kim, and a son, Kelly. Alice was a bookkeeper for various businesses in Ida Grove until her retirement. The couple then enjoyed wintering in Pharr, Texas. She died July 14, 2020, at Willow Dale Wellness Village in Battle Creek.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Esther Rold; her husband, Donald Bradshaw; a son-in-law, Larry Woebke; her siblings: Hazel Birks, Leonard Rold, Helene McGraw, Milford Rold and Ruth Linklater; and a host of friends. Left to cherish her memory include her children: Terri (Leslie) Abel of Walnut, Kim Woebke of Ida Grove and Kelly (LaDean) Bradshaw of Edwardsville, Kan.
