(June 1, 1922 – October 26, 2020)

IDA GROVE - Services for Roma (Clark) Lovett, 98, of Ida Grove was held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Nov. 2, 2020, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ida Grove with Revs. Richard A. Salcido and Neil Wehmas officiating. Burial was in the Storm Lake Cemetery at Storm Lake. Visitation was 9:30-10:30 a.m., Monday, Nov. 2, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ida Grove. Christensen-Van Houten Funeral Home in Ida Grove was in charge of arrangements.
Roma Elaine Lovett was born June 1, 1922, to Chancie and Edith Clark of Lake City. She attended Lake City High School and graduated in 1939. She then attended Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, where she obtained her teaching certificate. She later taught in the Lake City area. On Dec. 20, 1944, Roma married Robert “Bob” Lovett. They were blessed with a son, Terry. Roma and Bob owned and operated the Culligan water business in Ida Grove for over 50 years. She was the bookkeeper and enjoyed every minute at work. Roma enjoyed many years with her loving husband, Bob. Whether it was going out to eat on a Friday night or playing bridge and Go Fish with the grandchildren, she treasured time spent with family and friends. She was a faithful and devoted member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Roma died Oct. 26, 2020, at Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chancie and Edith Clark; her husband, Robert “Bob” Lovett; her daughter-in-law, Marilyn Lovett; two sisters: Marvel (Leon) Ohrlund and Bernice (Henry) Brisbois; and a grandson-in-law, Scott Mandernach. Left to cherish her memory include her son Terry (fiancée Gayleen Schug) Lovett of Ida Grove; and two granddaughters: Kelli (special friend, Randy Glau) Lovett of Vermillion, S.D., and Mindi (special friend, Joe Nees) Mandernach of Odebolt.
