(December 22, 1924 – December 9, 2020)

HOLSTEIN – Private family graveside services for Geri P. Bruning, 95, of Holstein was held at the Holstein Cemetery in Holstein with the Rev. Bob Lewis officiating. Burial was in Holstein Cemetery at Holstein. She died Dec. 9, 2020, at AbiliT Holstein Senior Living at Holstein.
Geraldine “Geri” Bruning was born Dec. 22, 1924, in Danbury to Herbert and Florence (Cassens) Gehrts. She was a graduate of Holstein High School. Geri married LaVerne Bruning Dec. 22, 1942, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Holstein. To this union, four children were born. She worked as a nurse’s aide at Horn Memorial Hospital. She was active in St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Geri was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Florence Gehrts; her husband, LaVerne; a son, Brian Bruning; a brother, Norman Gehrts; a sister, Bette Grell; and a daughter-in-law, Donna Bruning. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Jeannette Bruning; her daughter, Vicki (Orrin) Armiger; and two sons, Theodore (Shelley) Bruning and Thomas Bruning. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Cheri Cipperly, Christie Fredrichsen, Kelly Bruning, Steph Armiger, Matt Armiger, Susan Cleveland, Shane Bruning, Marc Bruning and Brady Bruning.
