George Russell Trullender
(April 16, 1942 – December 13, 2020)

ARTHUR – Services for George Russell Trullender, 78, of Arthur were held Dec. 17, 2020, at Christensen-Van Houten Funeral Home in Ida Grove with Rev. Kevin J. Freese will officiating.
Burial was in the Ida Grove Cemetery at Ida Grove with military rites by McNamara Moore Post No. 61 of the American Legion at Ida Grove. Christensen-Van Houten Funeral Home in Ida Grove is in charge of arrangements.
George Russell Trullender (Butch), was born in Alexandria, Va., April 16, 1942, to George W. Trullender and Dorothy (MaGruder) Trullender. George grew up in Virginia with his parents, two brothers (Warren and Harvey), a favorite uncle and aunt (Gene and Maggie Higgins) and many other extended family members. At 18, he enlisted into the U.S. Air Force and transitioned into the U.S. Army, spending 20 years of active military service, traveling around the world. After retirement from the military, he went to work for Mau Trucking until his retirement at 50. The fun really began for him when he started pursuing his life-long dream of aviation, which led him to opening TW Aviation, downtown Ida Grove. He died Dec. 13, 2020, at Willow Dale Wellness Village in Battle Creek, due to complications with COVID-19.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Warren Trullender and Harvey Trullender; and Aunt Maggie and Uncle Gene Higgins. Left to cherish his memory are Tammy Trullender of Harley, Va.; Rhoze Trullender of Ida Grove; Jerry (Christine) Trullender and Sherry Trullender, all of San Antonio, Texas;Martha Ulrich of Ida Grove; Mike Ulrich of Arthur; and Richard (Salina) Ulrich of Villa Grove, Ill..
Also surviving are Ryan (Leia) Ladwig; Elizabeth (David) Scholten; Orry (Rebecca) Ladwig; Jesse (Katelyn) Korthals of Tacoma, Wash.;Nikolette Griffith of Ida Grove; Ashly Griffith of Sioux City; Luke Griffith of Ida Grove; Stephanie Lutz of San Antonio, Texas; Joshua, Justin and Critton Trullender of San Antonio, Texas; Ameiah Griffith and Harrison Lutz; and Gerrit Korthals.
