(December 18, 1934 – December 24, 2020)

IDA GROVE – Services for Donna M. Korner, 86, of Ida Grove were Dec. 28, 2020, at Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home in Holstein with the Rev. Luann Benge officiating. Burial was in the Holstein Cemetery at Holstein. Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home in Holstein was in charge of services.
Donna was born Dec. 18, 1934, to John and Edna Gries. She was baptized and confirmed at the Methodist church in Holstein. Donna attended several country schools, one year in Galva, and graduated from Holstein High School in 1953. On March 9, 1958, she married Wayne Korner at Holstein United Methodist Church. Donna and Wayne were blessed with two sons, Steve and Scott. They farmed near Schleswig from 1958 to 1998, moving to Ida Grove in 1990. She was beyond talented, sharing her love for painting with her many pictures she painted for her grandchildren. She died Dec. 24, 2020, at Willow Dale Wellness Village in Battle Creek.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Wayne of Ida Grove; and two sons, Steve Korner of Ida Grove and Scott (Kelly) Korner of Schleswig. Also surviving are five grandchildren: Mandi (Aric) Aronson of Alta; Ryan Henningsen of Battle Creek; Danielle (Steve) Watts of Charter Oak; Deidra (Nick) Brown of Denison; and Dana (Matt) Kolln of North Liberty. Additional survivors include 11 great-grandchildren: Collin, Kelsie, Braden and Macie Aronson; Gavin, Cohen and Hudson Watts; Cameron, Hailey and Whitley Brown; and Mackenzie Jorgenson. She is also survived by her siblings: Delories Scherner, Dewitt (Colleen) Gries and Doreen (David) Umphreys; and a brother-in-law, Lodean (Lois) Korner. Donna was preceded in death by her parents in 1977.
