John H. Gensler Passes Away August 12
John H. Gensler, a resident of Swift County, Minn., for nearly 40 years, died at 4:40 Monday afternoon, August 12, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George Hehl in Oak Harbor, Ohio. Mr. Gensler had been in failing health since he suffered a stroke last April. The remains were brought to Benson, Minn., and funeral services were held in the Pilgrim Congregational church at 2:00 o’clock Thursday, August 15. John Henry Gensler was born in Dauphin County, Pa., on December 15, 1863, and was 76 years, 7 months, and 28 days old at the time of his death. He moved to Iowa in 1884, a youth of 21, and was married to Miss Anna Teghtmeyer at Ida Grove on January 4, 1888. They lived in Iowa 14 years after the marriage and moved to Swift County in 1902, settling in Swenoda Township. Mrs. Gensler passed away July 3, 1923. Surviving are nine children: Mrs. Grace Brown, Swenoda; Mrs. Myrtle Hehl, Oak Harbor, Ohio; Mrs. Mary Susenguth, Brechenridge; Mrs. Helen Vadnais, St. Paul; Mrs. Eva Barnett, Marysland; John, Osage; Garfield, Norwalk, Calif.; Walter, Benson, Minn.; and William of Ida Grove.
