Funeral Thursday For Milt Anspach Of California
Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) for George M. Anspach, 85, who passed away Friday at Long Beach, California. The services will be held at [text gone in the crease of the newspaper] with Rev. Whyte officiating. Miss Walters will have charge of the music. Raymond Wallace will sing “Shadows,” “The Lord’s Prayer,” and “I Know That My Redeemer Lives.” George Milton Anspach was born August 14, 1854, in Clearfield County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Jacob Anspach and Ann Bailey Anspach, being one of fourteen children, all of whom have preceded him in death. He moved with his parents to Scott County, Iowa, about 1861. About 1874, he came to Ida County with his brother-in-law, Henry Ferguson. He was married to Ella Dickson in 1877. To this union eight children were born. Pearl, the second daughter, died at the age of three years. He, and his wife, joined the M.E. church in about 1885. In 1903, they moved to Ida Grove. In 1917 moved to Long Beach, Calif.. His wife died three years ago. He spent four months in Ida Grove, Colfax, Ia., and in South Dakota a year ago. He leaves to mourn his loss seven children: Dr. R. G. Anspach, Colfax; Mrs. Edith Kuhlman, Belleflower, Calif.; Dr. W. E. Anspach, Chicago; Raymond C. Anspach, San Diego, Calif.; Mrs. Cuma Ann Hicks, Kadoka, S. D.; Mrs. Vivian Rothrock, Long Beach, Calif.; and Mrs. Gertrude Anderson, Ida Grove. There were twenty-two grand children and fifteen great-grandchildren, besides many nieces and nephews and scores of friends.
