Final Rites For E. Linholt; Services Held July 3 At Arthur; Military Services At Grave
Funeral services were held at the Arthur Baptist church Wednesday afternoon, July 3, for Edner Linholt, 48, a farmer living four miles south of Arthur, a victim of self-inflicted death. Rev. A. A. Erickson officiated. He was a World War veteran, having entered the services on July 29, 1918. Military services were held at the grave. Mr. Linholt shot himself through the right temple with a .22-calibre rifle Sunday morning between eight and nine o’clock. He died at 6:40 that evening. The shooting occurred in the barn yard on his farm. Mr. Linholt walked to the house and was taken to the Odebolt hospital. He did not lose consciousness until about one o’clock that afternoon. He had [text in newspaper crease gone] health for some time.

Surviving are his wife, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Linholt, Arthur; and six sisters, Mrs. Glen Smith, Odebolt; Mrs. Al Thompson, Arthur; Mrs. Wm. Schutte, Mrs. Artie Fink, Mrs. Wm. Fink and Mrs. Delphie Morgan all of Chicago. Mr. Linholt was born south of Kiron May 13, 1892. He moved to the farm on which he now lived when but one year old. He had lived on several farms after his marriage, and moved from the Graham farm north of Ida Grove two years ago to the old home place. There were no children. His aged mother, who is 88 years old, was too feeble to attend the funeral services and on account of her condition has not been told of her son’s death.
