Last Services for Henry Doehla, Jr.
Holstein – Henry Doehla, Jr., son of Henry and Regina Doehla was born January 16, 1889 about 4 miles northwest of Ida Grove, and passed from this life at the Sioux Valley hospital in Cherokee, July 1, 1940 at the age of 51 years, 5 months and 15 days. He has lived all of his life in Ida County except for three years that he lived in Cherokee County. He farmed for a number of years and in the spring of 1936 was forced to quit farming because of ill health, and moved into Holstein where he has lived since. He spent two winters in Texas and Arizona, hoping the change of climate would be of benefit to him. Mr. Doehla was called into his country’s service Sept. 3, 1918, and after spending some time in the army camp was honorably discharged from Camp Dodge on Feb 13, 1919. He leaves to mourn his passing two brothers, John and Christ of Holstein and two sisters, Henrietta Doehla and Mrs. Harry Schmidt of Holstein. Funeral services in the Johnson Funeral Home, July 3, with Rev. Louis J. Runion in charge. Burial in Holstein Cemetery. Music by Mrs. Arthur Hansen with Mrs. L. H. Hillyer accompanist.
