ANNA NIELSEN

Services were Monday for Anna S. Nielsen, 97, of Battle Creek, at the First Presbyterian Church in Battle Creek. The Rev. James Krapf officiated with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery under the direction of Christensen Funeral Home of Battle Creek.

Mrs. Nielsen died Saturday at Willow Dale Care Center in Battle Creek.

Mrs. Nielsen, the former Anna Sorensen, was born Nov. 12, 1889, at Ulkjaer, Denmark and came to the United States in 1914, settling in Battle Creek. She married Peter Nielsen on March 24, 1915, at Battle Creek. He died April 24, 1959, at Battle Creek. She was a housewife and a long-time area resident.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include five sons, Wilfred, Howard and Einar, all of Battle Creek, Chris of Mapleton and Peter of Ida Grove; two daughters, Mrs. Emmett (Olga) Dominick of Battle Creek and Mrs. Dale (Freda) Chisholm of Lake City; a sister, Johanna Jensen of Hampton; a brother, Arne of Denmark; 16 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
