Funeral services for Ben Lemke who was found dead in his grocery store Monday noon, were held Thursday afternoon, from the Hansen Funeral Home. Pastor Wm, Striepe of St. Paul's Lutheran Church officiated. Music was by a quartet from the church choir, Mrs. Lorna Vollmar, Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Sorensen and Fred Ellerbusch with Mrs. Walter Sorensen at the piano.

In charge of flowers were, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Ellerbusch and Mr and Mrs. Henry Clausen. Cars were arranged by Elvie Fick, Edwin Jatho and John Schleckloth. Pallbearers were Henry Uttesch, Edward Hansen, Henry Endrulat, Ben Will, Carl Goettsch and Arthur Hansen. Burial was in Holstein Cemetery.

Ben Lemke was born April 15, 1889 at Holstein. On June 24, 1919, he was married to Kate Bauer.

Surviving with the widow are one son, Lloyd, and two daughters, Mrs. Eunice McCrea, and Mrs. Lester Steen of Atlantic; three grandchildren, two brothers, Eric of Holstein, and Fred of Paullina; two sisters, Mrs. Hugo Bremer and Mrs. Asmus Lamp.

He had been in the grocery business most of his life.

The American Legion conducted services at the grave.
