Funeral services were held Monday Sept. 24th in Battle Creek for Louis Derr Sr. age 89, who passed away Saturday Sept. 22nd in a Sioux City hospital where he had been a patient for several weeks. Rev. Albert Kellow officiated at the services, and Dr. H. E. Hutchinson of Pierson assisted with the graveside service.

Burial was in the Mount Hope cemetery. Mr. Derr was the father of Mrs. James Watkins, other survivors are Louis Jr. and Mrs. Enid Schmidt of Battle Creek and Mrs, Eunice Osborn of Villard, Minn., and one sister. Mrs. Florentine Wiese of Meadow Grove, Nebraska.
